Verba·Team Translations
"Translation is not regarded as a simplistic cross-linguistic movement of prefixed meanings, but rather as a complex praxis that inevitably incorporates interpretive transformation and ideological intervention." ~ Emek Ergun
Verbatim stands for word for word. It’s not only about translation, but you give us your word and we offer you our word for high quality and up-to-date services.
- Who We Are -
We are a team of professional translators who studied together at the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpretation (Ionian University, Corfu). Thanos Chrysanthopoulos
Thanos cannot imagine tomorrow without translation. He is always eager to dive into new translation and subtitling projects, because he loves new challenges. As an AVT translation geek, he thinks that Subtitling is his job, Stage Translation is his profession & Audio Description is his inspiration. He never misses an opportunity to translate a legal, political or economic text. His great passion is literary translation, because he feels free to invent himself & play with the intentions of the author. "Translating is staging a play in another language", Hans Sahl said. This is what he believes in. Give him a text and he will do his best for a new translation performance.

Konstantinos Menyktas
Konstantinos is not born a translator but he aims to become one. He has translated technical texts about HIV and AIDS and articles which concern sex workers and their protection (safe sex, work conditions). He is currently working at the news agency “Orthodox Times”, where he translates texts about religion, spirituality, and politics. In the meantime, he is doing a M.A. in Conference Interpreting at the Scientific College of Greece (SCI). Once, he read an interview of the Greek translator of Umberto Eco, Efi Kallifatidi, who said: “The translator is like a tabula rasa, a blank slate. However, he has a lot of knowledge which helps him or her to start from the very beginning every time he translates a new book. It is something like a blank start.”
